It’s a common misconception that ‘gifted’ equates to high achievement. Without sustained access to appropriate learning, highly capable kids who don’t experience challenge may coast to “get by,” develop habits that mask their abilities, tune out, act out, or even drop out. What’s the impact when kids disengage or fly under the radar?

How are services and support shifting across K-12? What common threads emerge from people’s current concerns? How do perceptions, funding, and policy shape what happens next?
